Veterans Affairs- General Information
The Commission attempts to serve indigent
veterans, their spouses, and/or eligible dependents.
Each client seeking assistance shall complete an application.
Applications can be obtained at the Veterans Affairs
Office. The Director and Commissioner of Veteran Affairs
of Mahaska County offers assistance in filing all
pensions, service connected disability (compensation),
non-service connected disability or social security
benefits. Each application is treated as an individual
case.
The Commission consists of 3 members.
These members are wartime veterans as prescribed in
the Iowa Code, Chapter 35.
Disclaimer
We, as the Mahaska County Veteran Affairs
Board of Commissioners and/or Mahaska County Board
of Supervisors reserve the right to amend, delete
or make revisions to the General Guidelines and Policies
contained in this format at a future meeting of our
Commissioners and/or county Board of Supervisors,
in accordance with the Code of Iowa, Chapter 35B.
The effective date of these guidelines and policies
shall be after approval and final passage by the Mahaska
County Veteran Affairs board of Commissioners and
Mahaska County Board of Supervisors.
